Role:PerformerBarry Bocaner was born on May 15, 1985, in New York City. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Barry showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Barry's parents recognized his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. He began taking piano lessons with his father and quickly developed a passion for classical music. In 1997, Barry was accepted into the Juilliard School's Pre-College Division, where he studied under the tutelage of renowned pianist Yoheved Kaplinsky. After graduating from Juilliard, Barry went on to study at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, where he studied under the guidance of pianist Gary Graffman. While at Curtis, Barry continued to hone his skills and performed in several concerts, including a solo recital at Carnegie Hall. In 2008, Barry made his debut with the New York Philharmonic, performing Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5. The performance was a huge success, and Barry received critical acclaim for his virtuosic playing. He went on to perform with several other major orchestras, including the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his performances with orchestras, Barry has also performed in several solo recitals and chamber music concerts. He has collaborated with several renowned musicians, including violinist Joshua Bell and cellist Yo-Yo Ma.
