Nancy Stokes was born on May 12, 1985, in New York City. She grew up in a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Nancy showed a natural talent for music and began taking piano lessons at the age of four. As she grew older, Nancy's love for music only intensified, and she began to explore other instruments. She started playing the violin at the age of eight and the cello at the age of ten. By the time she was in high school, Nancy was already an accomplished musician, having won several local and regional competitions. After graduating from high school, Nancy attended the Juilliard School in New York City, where she studied piano, violin, and cello. During her time at Juilliard, Nancy had the opportunity to work with some of the most renowned musicians in the world, including Yo-Yo Ma, Itzhak Perlman, and Emanuel Ax. After graduating from Juilliard, Nancy began her professional career as a classical musician. She quickly gained a reputation as a talented and versatile performer, and she was soon in demand for concerts and recitals all over the world. One of Nancy's most memorable performances was at the Lincoln Center in New York City. She was invited to perform as a soloist with the New York Philharmonic, one of the most prestigious orchestras in the world. Nancy's performance was met with critical acclaim, and she was praised for her technical skill and emotional depth. In addition to her solo performances, Nancy has also collaborated with many other musicians and ensembles. She has performed with the Emerson String Quartet, the Tokyo String Quartet, and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, among others. Throughout her career, Nancy has received numerous awards and honors for her contributions to classical music. She has been awarded the Avery Fisher Career Grant, the Gilmore Young Artist Award, and the Naumburg International Violin Competition, among others. In addition to her musical career, Nancy is also a passionate advocate for music education.
