The choir was founded in 1978 by Maestro Marco Berrini, who was the director of the Conservatory at the time. The choir is made up of students from the Conservatory, and it has become one of the most prestigious choirs in Italy. The choir's early years were marked by a series of successful performances in Italy and abroad. In 1980, the choir performed at the International Festival of Sacred Music in Rome, where they received critical acclaim for their performance of Mozart's Requiem. The following year, the choir performed at the International Festival of Choral Music in Arezzo, where they won first prize in the mixed choir category. Over the years, the choir has continued to grow and evolve under the direction of various conductors. In 1990, the choir was led by Maestro Luigi Boccia, who brought a new energy and enthusiasm to the group. Under his direction, the choir performed at the International Festival of Choral Music in Cork, Ireland, where they won first prize in the mixed choir category. In 1995, the choir was led by Maestro Marco Berrini once again, and they embarked on a tour of the United States. The tour was a huge success, and the choir received standing ovations at every performance. The highlight of the tour was a performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City, where the choir received a standing ovation that lasted for several minutes. In 2000, the choir was led by Maestro Stefano Barandoni, who brought a new level of technical precision to the group. Under his direction, the choir performed at the International Festival of Choral Music in Tolosa, Spain, where they won first prize in the mixed choir category. In 2005, the choir was led by Maestro Marco Berrini once again, and they embarked on a tour of Japan. The tour was a huge success, and the choir received standing ovations at every performance. The highlight of the tour was a performance at the Suntory Hall in Tokyo, where the choir received a standing ovation that lasted for several minutes. In 2010, the choir was led by Maestro Fabrizio Barchi, who brought a new level of musicality to the group. Under his direction, the choir performed at the International Festival of Choral Music in Graz, Austria, where they won first prize in the mixed choir category. In 2015, the choir was led by Maestro Marco Berrini once again, and they embarked on a tour of China. The tour was a huge success, and the choir received standing ovations at every performance. The highlight of the tour was a performance at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, where the choir received a standing ovation that lasted for several minutes.
