Montenegrin Guitar Duo is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2008 by two talented guitarists, Goran Krivokapić and Danijel Cerović. The duo has gained international recognition for their exceptional musicianship and unique interpretations of classical guitar repertoire. Goran Krivokapić was born in 1979 in Podgorica, Montenegro. He began playing the guitar at the age of eight and went on to study at the Music Academy in Cetinje, Montenegro. He later continued his studies at the University of Arts in Belgrade, Serbia, where he earned a Master's degree in guitar performance. Danijel Cerović was born in 1981 in Nikšić, Montenegro. He also started playing the guitar at a young age and studied at the Music Academy in Cetinje. He later earned a Master's degree in guitar performance from the University of Arts in Belgrade. The two guitarists met while studying at the University of Arts in Belgrade and quickly formed a musical bond. They began performing together as a duo and soon gained recognition for their exceptional musicianship and unique interpretations of classical guitar repertoire. In 2008, they officially formed Montenegrin Guitar Duo and began performing together full-time. Since their formation, Montenegrin Guitar Duo has performed at some of the world's most prestigious concert halls and festivals. They have performed throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas, captivating audiences with their virtuosic playing and musical sensitivity. Some of their most notable performances include appearances at the Guitar Foundation of America Convention, the International Guitar Festival in Koblenz, Germany, and the International Guitar Festival in Mexico City. In addition to their performances, Montenegrin Guitar Duo has also released several critically acclaimed recordings. Their debut album, "Bach to Tan Dun," was released in 2010 and features a diverse range of classical guitar repertoire, from Bach to contemporary composer Tan Dun. Their second album, "Black and White," was released in 2013 and features works by Spanish composers such as Manuel de Falla and Joaquín Rodrigo. Montenegrin Guitar Duo has received numerous awards and accolades for their exceptional musicianship. In 2009, they won first prize at the International Guitar Duo Competition in Montelimar, France. They were also awarded the prestigious "Young Artists of the Year" award by the Montenegrin Ministry of Culture in 2010. In 2014, they were awarded the "Virtuoso" award by the Guitar Art Festival in Belgrade, Serbia. Montenegrin Guitar Duo continues to be one of the most sought-after classical guitar ensembles in the world.
