Robert Hardy was born on May 1, 1985, in London, England. He grew up in a family of musicians, with both his parents being professional classical musicians. From a young age, Hardy showed a natural talent for music, and his parents encouraged him to pursue his passion. Hardy began his musical education at the age of five, when he started taking piano lessons. He quickly progressed and by the age of ten, he had already won several local piano competitions. At the age of twelve, he started studying the violin, and within a few years, he had become proficient enough to perform in public. In 2003, Hardy was accepted into the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he studied under some of the most renowned classical musicians in the world. During his time at the academy, he continued to excel, winning several awards and competitions, including the prestigious Royal Academy of Music Concerto Competition. After graduating from the academy in 2007, Hardy began his professional career as a classical musician. He quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented young musicians in the industry, and he was soon in high demand as a soloist and chamber musician. One of Hardy's most notable performances came in 2010, when he was invited to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London as part of the BBC Proms. He performed Beethoven's Violin Concerto with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, receiving critical acclaim for his virtuosic performance. In addition to his solo work, Hardy was also a member of several chamber music ensembles, including the London String Quartet and the Hardy Trio, which he formed with his sister, who is also a professional musician. Throughout his career, Hardy received numerous awards and accolades for his musical achievements. In 2012, he was awarded the prestigious Royal Philharmonic Society Instrumentalist Award, which recognizes outstanding achievement in the field of classical music. Sadly, Hardy's career was cut short when he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in 2015. Despite undergoing extensive treatment, he passed away in 2017 at the age of 32.
