Alexander Tutunov is a renowned classical pianist who has captivated audiences around the world with his virtuosic performances and deep musicality. Born in the Soviet Union in 1963, Tutunov began playing the piano at the age of six and quickly showed a natural talent for the instrument. He studied at the Central Music School in Moscow and later at the Moscow Conservatory, where he received his Master's degree in piano performance. After completing his studies, Tutunov embarked on a successful career as a concert pianist, performing in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls and collaborating with renowned orchestras and conductors. He has been praised for his technical brilliance, his expressive playing, and his ability to bring out the emotional depth of the music he performs. One of Tutunov's early career highlights was his performance at the Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition in Moscow in 1986. Although he did not win the competition, his performance was widely praised and helped to establish him as a rising star in the classical music world. In the years that followed, Tutunov continued to build his reputation as a soloist and chamber musician, performing in venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and the Berlin Philharmonic. He has also been a frequent guest artist at music festivals around the world, including the International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York and the Festival Internacional de Música de Cámara in Mexico. Tutunov has recorded several albums throughout his career, including a critically acclaimed recording of the complete piano works of Sergei Rachmaninoff. In addition to his performing career, Tutunov is also a dedicated teacher and has served on the faculty of several universities and music schools. He is currently a professor of piano at Southern Oregon University, where he has been recognized for his outstanding teaching and mentorship of young musicians. Throughout his career, Tutunov has received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to the classical music world. In 2010, he was awarded the prestigious Steinway Artist designation, which recognizes pianists who have achieved the highest level of performance and artistry.
