The ensemble has gained recognition for their unique sound and interpretation of classical music. The founding members of Quartetto DuePiùDue met while studying at the Conservatory of Music in Pesaro, Italy. They quickly discovered a shared passion for chamber music and decided to form a quartet. The group's name, which translates to "Quartet TwoPlusTwo," reflects their belief that each member brings their own unique voice to the ensemble, creating a cohesive and dynamic sound. Since their formation, Quartetto DuePiùDue has performed extensively throughout Italy and Europe, earning critical acclaim for their performances. They have also participated in numerous music festivals, including the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, Italy, and the Festival Internacional de Música de Cámara de Aguascalientes in Mexico. One of the ensemble's most notable performances was at the 2012 International Chamber Music Competition in Osaka, Japan. Quartetto DuePiùDue was awarded first prize in the string quartet category, as well as the special prize for the best interpretation of a contemporary work. This recognition helped to establish the group as one of the most promising young ensembles in the classical music world. In addition to their success in competitions, Quartetto DuePiùDue has also collaborated with renowned musicians such as pianist Andrea Lucchesini and clarinetist Alessandro Carbonare. They have also recorded several albums, including "Mozart: The String Quartets" and "Beethoven: The Late String Quartets," which have received critical acclaim for their interpretation and execution. Quartetto DuePiùDue's repertoire spans from the classical era to contemporary works, and they are known for their innovative programming and interpretation of lesser-known works. They have also commissioned and premiered several new works by contemporary composers, including "Quartetto per archi" by Italian composer Carlo Galante. The ensemble's members are also dedicated to music education and outreach. They have conducted masterclasses and workshops for young musicians, and have performed in schools and community centers to promote classical music to a wider audience.
