The duo was formed in Moscow, Russia in 2004 and has since become one of the most renowned classical music duos in the world. Olga Solovieva was born in Moscow in 1976. She began playing the piano at the age of five and went on to study at the Moscow State Conservatory. She has won numerous awards and competitions, including the International Piano Competition in Senigallia, Italy, and the International Piano Competition in Jaen, Spain. Dmitry Kouzov was born in Moscow in 1977. He began playing the cello at the age of six and went on to study at the Moscow State Conservatory. He has also performed with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. The Moscow Duo was formed in 2004 when Solovieva and Kouzov met while studying at the Moscow State Conservatory.
