Guthrie Govan is a British guitarist, composer, and educator who has made a name for himself in the world of progressive rock and fusion music. Born on December 27, 1971, in Chelmsford, Essex, England, Govan grew up in a musical family and began playing the guitar at a young age. He was largely self-taught, but also received some formal training in classical guitar and music theory.
