Tomas Gubitsch, also known as Hughes de Courson, is a French-Argentine composer and musician who has made significant contributions to the world of classical music. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1948, Gubitsch grew up in a family of musicians and was exposed to music from a young age. His father was a composer and conductor, and his mother was a pianist. Gubitsch began playing the guitar at the age of 12 and quickly developed a passion for music. In the early 1970s, Gubitsch moved to France to pursue his musical career. The result was the album "Baroque Odyssey," which was released in 1994. "Baroque Odyssey" features a unique blend of Baroque music, Middle Eastern melodies, and African rhythms. The album was a critical and commercial success and helped to establish Gubitsch and de Courson as leading figures in the world music scene. The duo went on to release several more albums together, including "Travels" and "Oriental Bass." In addition to his work with de Courson, Gubitsch has also composed music for a number of other projects. He has written music for dance performances, theater productions, and television shows. He has also released several solo albums, including "Tango" and "Guitar Stories." Throughout his career, Gubitsch has been recognized for his contributions to the world of music. He has received numerous awards and honors, including the Grand Prix du Disque and the Victoires de la Musique.
