Nellie Briercliffe was a renowned classical music artist who made a significant contribution to the world of music during her lifetime. Born on 12th May 1895 in Manchester, England, Nellie was the youngest of six children. Her father was a music teacher, and her mother was a singer. Nellie's parents recognized her musical talent at an early age and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Nellie began her musical training at the age of six, learning to play the piano and violin. She showed exceptional talent and quickly progressed in her studies. By the age of ten, she had already performed in public, and her performances were well-received by the audience. In 1908, Nellie was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Manchester College of Music. She continued to excel in her studies and won several awards for her performances. In 1914, she graduated with honors and was awarded the prestigious Hiles Gold Medal for her outstanding performance. After completing her studies, Nellie began her professional career as a concert pianist.
