Vera Breheda was born on May 12, 1985, in Moscow, Russia. She was born into a family of musicians, with her mother being a pianist and her father a cellist. From a young age, Vera was exposed to classical music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Her parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue a career in music. Vera attended the Moscow Conservatory, where she studied under the renowned pianist and teacher, Vladimir Tropp. She graduated with honors in 2007 and went on to pursue a master's degree at the Juilliard School in New York City.
