Gareth Koch is a renowned classical guitarist, composer, and music educator. He was born on May 30, 1962, in Sydney, Australia. Koch grew up in a family of musicians, and his father was a professional jazz pianist. He started playing the guitar at the age of eight and quickly developed a passion for classical music. Koch studied music at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where he received a Bachelor of Music degree in 1983. He then went on to study with the legendary Spanish guitarist, Narciso Yepes, in Paris. In 1988, Koch won the Australian Guitar Competition, which was a significant achievement for him.
