The founding members of Sinfonietta Schaffhausen included violinist and conductor Andreas Brenner, cellist Ursula Brenner, and pianist and composer Hans-Jürg Sommer. Over the years, the ensemble has grown to include a rotating cast of talented musicians from Switzerland and beyond. Sinfonietta Schaffhausen has become known for its dynamic and engaging performances of classical music, ranging from Baroque to contemporary works. The ensemble has performed in a variety of venues throughout Switzerland, including churches, concert halls, and outdoor festivals. One of the highlights of Sinfonietta Schaffhausen's career was their performance at the 1998 Schaffhausen Music Festival, where they were featured as the opening act. The ensemble received critical acclaim for their performance of Mozart's Symphony No. 40 in G minor, which was described as "exquisite" and "emotionally powerful." In addition to their live performances, Sinfonietta Schaffhausen has also released several recordings over the years.
