Born on December 12, 1985, in Seoul, South Korea, Min Kyung Kim showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of four. She continued her studies at the Seoul Arts High School, where she received the President's Award for Excellence in Music. She then went on to study at the Seoul National University, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance. She enrolled at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, where she earned a Master's degree in Piano Performance.
