David Ying is a renowned cellist and chamber musician who has made a significant contribution to the world of classical music. Born in Chicago in 1963, David grew up in a family of musicians. His parents, both Chinese immigrants, were accomplished musicians who played in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. David's older brother, Phillip, is also a cellist and together they formed the Ying Quartet, which has gained international acclaim.
