From a young age, Marjukka showed a keen interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. Her parents recognized her talent and encouraged her to pursue music as a career. Marjukka's musical education began at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, where she studied under the guidance of renowned pianist and pedagogue Liisa Pohjola. She later continued her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover, Germany, where she studied with Professor Karl-Heinz Kämmerling. Marjukka's talent and dedication to music were evident from the beginning of her career. She won her first major competition, the Finnish National Piano Competition, at the age of 16. This was followed by several other awards, including the Nordic Piano Competition in 1994 and the International Piano Competition in Senigallia, Italy, in 1995. Marjukka's career as a concert pianist took off in the late 1990s, and she quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented and versatile pianists of her generation. She has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic. One of the highlights of Marjukka's career was her performance of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 with the Berlin Philharmonic under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle in 2003. The performance was widely praised by critics and established Marjukka as one of the leading interpreters of Beethoven's music. Marjukka has also been recognized for her work as a chamber musician.
