Coro da Camera di Praga, also known as the Prague Chamber Choir, is a renowned classical music ensemble based in Prague, Czech Republic. The choir was founded in 1952 by its first conductor, Josef Veselka, and has since become one of the most respected and sought-after choirs in Europe. The choir's early years were marked by a focus on Czech choral music, particularly the works of Antonín Dvořák and Bedřich Smetana. However, under the leadership of subsequent conductors, the choir expanded its repertoire to include a wide range of classical and contemporary works from around the world. One of the choir's most notable achievements came in 1964, when it won first prize at the International Choral Competition in Arezzo, Italy. This victory helped to establish the choir's reputation as a world-class ensemble, and led to invitations to perform at major festivals and concert halls throughout Europe and beyond.
