Peter Marinos was born on May 15, 1985, in Athens, Greece. He grew up in a family of musicians, with his father being a renowned pianist and his mother a violinist. From a young age, Marinos showed a natural talent for music and began playing the piano at the age of four. Marinos received his formal music education at the Athens Conservatory, where he studied under the guidance of some of the most prominent classical music teachers in Greece. He quickly distinguished himself as a gifted pianist, winning numerous awards and competitions throughout his teenage years. In 2003, Marinos was awarded a scholarship to study at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City. There, he continued to hone his skills under the tutelage of renowned pianists such as Emanuel Ax and Yoheved Kaplinsky. During his time at Juilliard, Marinos also had the opportunity to perform in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world, including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. After graduating from Juilliard in 2007, Marinos embarked on a successful career as a concert pianist. He quickly gained a reputation as one of the most talented and dynamic young pianists of his generation, and his performances were praised for their technical precision and emotional depth. Marinos has performed with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Berlin Philharmonic. He has also collaborated with many of the world's most renowned conductors, including Daniel Barenboim, Simon Rattle, and Valery Gergiev. One of Marinos' most memorable performances came in 2010, when he performed Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 with the New York Philharmonic under the baton of Alan Gilbert. The performance was hailed as a triumph, with critics praising Marinos' "dazzling technique" and "sensitive interpretation." In addition to his work as a soloist, Marinos is also an accomplished chamber musician. He has collaborated with some of the world's leading string quartets, including the Emerson Quartet and the Tokyo Quartet. He is also a frequent collaborator with his wife, the violinist Maria Kostopoulos. Marinos has received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career.
