Katherine attended the Juilliard School in New York City, where she studied piano under the tutelage of renowned pianist, Yoheved Kaplinsky. She graduated with honors in 2007 and went on to pursue a master's degree in music at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. During her time at Curtis, Katherine had the opportunity to work with some of the most talented musicians in the world. She studied under the guidance of renowned pianists such as Gary Graffman and Leon Fleisher. She also had the opportunity to perform with the Curtis Symphony Orchestra, which helped her gain valuable experience as a soloist. Katherine's talent and hard work paid off when she won the prestigious Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in 2010. The competition, which is held every four years, is one of the most prestigious piano competitions in the world. Katherine's performance of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3 wowed the judges and the audience, and she was awarded the first prize. The Van Cliburn International Piano Competition was a turning point in Katherine's career. It brought her international recognition and opened up new opportunities for her. She began performing in major concert halls around the world, including Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Royal Albert Hall in London, and the Berlin Philharmonic. Katherine's performances were praised for their technical brilliance and emotional depth. She had a unique ability to connect with her audience and bring the music to life.
