John Hilton was a British composer and musician who lived during the 16th and 17th centuries. He was born in Cambridge, England, in 1599, and little is known about his early life and education. However, it is believed that he received his musical training at the University of Cambridge, where he later became a fellow. Hilton's musical career began in the early 1620s when he was appointed as the organist at St. Margaret's Church in Westminster.
