Małgorzata Skorupa is a renowned classical music artist who has made a name for herself as a pianist, chamber musician, and educator. Born in Poland in 1979, Skorupa showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of six. She quickly demonstrated a natural talent for the instrument and began taking lessons with some of the best teachers in her hometown of Gdańsk. As a young musician, Skorupa participated in numerous competitions and festivals, winning several awards and accolades along the way. In 1995, she won first prize in the National Piano Competition in Gdańsk, and in 1997, she was awarded the Grand Prix at the International Piano Competition in Łódź. These early successes helped to establish Skorupa as a rising star in the classical music world and set the stage for her future career. After completing her studies at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk, Skorupa went on to pursue further training and education in Germany and Austria. She studied with some of the most renowned pianists and teachers in Europe, including Karl-Heinz Kämmerling, Andrzej Jasiński, and Paul Badura-Skoda. These experiences helped to broaden Skorupa's musical horizons and deepen her understanding of the piano as an instrument. Throughout her career, Skorupa has performed extensively as a soloist and chamber musician, both in Poland and abroad. She has appeared in some of the most prestigious concert halls in Europe, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Konzerthaus, and the Royal Albert Hall in London. Skorupa has also collaborated with many of the world's leading orchestras, including the Warsaw Philharmonic, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and the Munich Chamber Orchestra. One of the highlights of Skorupa's career was her performance at the 2005 Chopin and his Europe Festival in Warsaw. This festival is one of the most important events in the classical music calendar and attracts some of the world's most talented musicians. Skorupa was also awarded the Bavarian State Prize for Music in 2012, in recognition of her outstanding achievements as a pianist and educator.
