Mike Olson was a renowned classical music composer who was born on May 12, 1950, in New York City, United States. He was the youngest of three children born to a family of musicians. His father was a pianist, and his mother was a violinist. From a young age, Mike was exposed to classical music and was encouraged to pursue a career in music. Mike began his musical education at the age of five when he started taking piano lessons. He showed a natural talent for music and quickly progressed. By the age of ten, he had already composed his first piece of music. He continued to study music throughout his childhood and teenage years, taking lessons in piano, violin, and composition. In 1968, Mike enrolled at the Juilliard School in New York City, one of the most prestigious music schools in the world. He studied composition under the guidance of renowned composers such as Elliott Carter and Milton Babbitt. During his time at Juilliard, Mike developed a unique style of composition that blended traditional classical music with modern techniques. After graduating from Juilliard in 1972, Mike began his career as a composer. He quickly gained recognition for his innovative compositions and was commissioned to write music for a variety of ensembles and orchestras. His works were performed at major concert halls around the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, and the Sydney Opera House. One of Mike's most famous works is his Symphony No. 1, which he composed in 1975. The symphony is a four-movement work that showcases Mike's unique style of composition.
