Duo Tandem is a classical music ensemble that was founded in 2012 by two guitarists, Dr. Necati Emirzade and Mark Anderson. He has won numerous awards, including first prize at the 2008 Appalachian State Guitar Festival and the 2010 East Carolina University Guitar Competition. The two guitarists met while studying at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where they both earned their Doctor of Musical Arts degrees. They quickly discovered a shared passion for classical guitar music and began performing together as Duo Tandem. Duo Tandem's repertoire includes a wide range of classical guitar music, from traditional Spanish and Latin American pieces to contemporary works by living composers. They are known for their innovative arrangements of classical works, which often incorporate elements of jazz and other genres.
